What is Meditation and Mindfulness?

Meditation is a technique which focuses on the senses and the breath giving an overall sense of just being. This technique provides relief of stress and helps us to relax and become more focused. Regular Meditation enhances a relaxed state of mind by calming the central nervous system and slowing down the heart rate. As a result it has positive benefits to your physical, emotional and mental well-being.

Mindfulness is a skill that focuses on developing a sense of being in the present and experiencing thought and action moment-by-moment. Thoughts and actions are observed in a non-judgemental way. Our thoughts take up most of our time as we are primarily in the past or future. With Mindfulness time seems to expand rather than diminish.
